Like a lot of professional magicians, it was a box of ‘Hocus Pocus’ Magic Tricks which lit my passion for magic, performing for friends and family guests. Fast forward 5 years and enter David Blaine, ushering in a new era of magic, making magic ‘cool’ and more congruent with my own personality. As I say on my home page, I am not your classic, bow-tie wearing fuddy-duddy magician, but one, offering original, exciting, and contemporary entertainment.
I am an avid performer of close up and stage, magic and mind-reading and my skills have taken me around the world including 2 years in Japan, holding a residency in some exclusive establishments, mixing with magicians in Southern India and performing with Malaysian street magicians. More recently I have appeared on national Television, BBC Radio and the press..Back in the UK, I am often booked in and around the Midlands including Nottingham (my home town), Derby, Chesterfield, Leicester, Sheffield, and beyond, into Birmingham, Manchester, and on occasion – London for close up, corporate, trade show and stage or cabaret engagements.
My most frequent, close-up booking is as a wedding magician. This may involve ‘mix and mingle magic’ around the wedding breakfast or wedding reception, some close up magic whilst the photos are being taken or some table magic between the dinner courses. Equally I am booked for pre-disco or band entertainment or fit into other more bespoke parts of the day.
I am also a regular stage / cabaret performer. My stage/ cabaret act, similar to my close up magic act, is fresh, original and exciting, showcasing psychological illusions, ventriloquism, mind-reading, escapology, magic and other feats of wonder all wrapped up in a cloak of comedy. My shows play as large as a 3,000 strong theatre crowd or it can be scaled down for cabaret performances at weddings, hen parties, stag dos, event venues or more intimate private parties.
